Jessica Kuhr named a Roadman Scholar at Morningside College

Jessica Kuhr, daughter of Gary and Karen Kuhr of Platte Center, Neb., was named a Roadman Scholar at Morningside College in recognition of high academic distinction for the 2009-10 academic year.

Kuhr, a junior who is majoring in nursing, is a past graduate of Lakeview High School.

Roadman Scholars must be full-time students who have completed at least 45 credits of college work with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.76 or above. The award is named in honor of the late Dr. Earl Roadman, who was president of Morningside College from 1936 to 1956.

Morningside College enrolled 2,036 full-time and part-time students for the 2009-10 academic year and welcomes students of all faiths and backgrounds. Morningside offers five bachelor’s degrees, including bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, bachelor of music, bachelor of music education, and bachelor of nursing, and a master of arts in teaching degree. The college was founded in 1894 by the Methodist Episcopal Church and remains affiliated with the United Methodist Church today.
