Emily Culver initiated into Alpha Lambda Delta

Emily Culver, daughter of David Culver of Orleans, Neb., was recently initiated into Morningside College's chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) national freshman women's honor society.

Culver, a freshman who is majoring in psychology counseling and religious studies, is a past graduate of Southern Valley High School.

ALD recognizes and encourages academic excellence among first-year students. Membership is open to full-time freshmen that earn a grade point average of 3.5 or better at a four-year college or university.

Morningside College enrolled 1,991 full-time and part-time students for the 2010 fall term and welcomes students of all faiths and backgrounds. Morningside offers five bachelor's degrees, including bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, bachelor of music, bachelor of music education, and bachelor of nursing, and a master of arts in teaching degree. The college was founded in 1894 by the Methodist Episcopal Church and remains affiliated with the United Methodist Church today.
